The study offers significance within the concentration of cybersecurity and professional practice by identifying viable solutions for small businesses. Small businesses make up a high margin of the world’s economic providers while also being a consistent target for cybercriminals. The study aims to provide academic insight into the current state of small businesses while also producing meaningful avenues for cybersecurity deployments. Cybersecurity within small businesses can be considered lacking due to the inherent limitations originating from resources, employee education, and the cost of cybersecurity solutions. The study looks to overcome these limitations by presenting initial steps for small businesses and providing guidance where guidance is limited. No organization is the same; thus, cybersecurity limitations and implementations are unique. My research will provide professional best practices for small business owners to overcome these businesses' limitations and implementation problems. The best practices provide viable solutions while aligning the study with the concentration of cybersecurity and information assurance through which generated information on small businesses is achieved.
